ABOUT

The Chief Instructor at Stoke Freestyle Martial Arts Academy is Chris Guest. With over 30 years experience in the Martial Arts he has a vast wealth of knowledge he is keen to pass on. Starting in Wado Ryu at the age of 5 he gained both his Dan grades in his home town of Stourbridge before studying a number of disciplines and setting up his own club in Stoke on Trent. Chris still considers himself to be a student of the Martial Arts, believing you can never stop learning and is keen to educate his students in both traditional fighting arts and sports combat.
Chris is enthusiastic about helping the community he teaches in and regularly fund raises for charities through Stoke Freestyle, in the past he has been awarded Community Partner of the Year, Young Inspirer of the Year and more recently was awarded the prestigious Up and Coming Award at the Martial Arts Illustrated Magazine Awards.
Having worked with students with social and learning difficulties for many years Chris has extensive knowledge of teaching strategies, whilst encouraging younger generations to express themselves respectfully and thoughtfully.

Chris is always on hand after class time to discuss student progress and regularly puts aside time to mentor students who have questions or difficulties.
Martial Arts is a passion for Chris and this shows in the way he delivers his kickboxing lessons- but don't take our word for it..check out our Facebook reviews to see what others say!
